Project Science Journalists

Anybody can write an article, or so many people think.

But good journalism is the equivalent of performing a split in gymnastics. Important information must be presented in as interesting a manner as possible: “how can I report on a topic in detail without boring my readers?â€

Students in grades 10 through 12 learn the basics of journalism which they apply when writing about science projects at the GISW. In order to do this they form reporter / photographer teams to document activities and events in both German and English.

Students work on the reports in weekly editing meetings, and with the help of experts.

Goals:

  • Promotion of the GISW as a successful foreign school focused on science through real time reporting on its website
  • to spark interest in journalism as a career
